Are we too big to fail?

I read a report from a group of retired Military Leaders last week that sites stats released by the Pentagon that show 75% of young people ages 17-24 are currently unable to enlist. Most commonly because of a failure to graduate from High School, criminal record and physical fitness, i.e. obesity.

When I read articles about spending without accountability, it makes me just as irritated as any tea party member. But for different reasons. Nonprofit programs serving those in crisis, working government programs, schools are all getting cut and could desperately use the money.

What are our priorities? I want to invest wisely in this country.
